DIN 51130 – General slip resistance in working areas

  • The test surface is placed on a test frame and coated with 200 ml of special engine oil per square metre. A tester walks over the surface wearing standard work footwear while the surface is raised at the rear edge. The tester runs up and down the ramp as it gets steeper and steeper until he slips or feels insecure.

DIN 51097 – Slip resistance in wet barefoot areas

  • The setup in accordance with DIN 51097 is similar to DIN 51130. Water is now applied on the same test frame instead of oil. The tester walks around the surface barefoot until he slips or feels insecure.

XPP 05-010 – Slip resistance in wet barefoot areas
